Dr. Marcella Bauman
Dr. Marcella Bauman grew up in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1990. She completed both her Honours Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degree while at Waterloo.
Following graduation, Dr. Bauman was an associate in a northeast London optometry practice for several years. Starting in 1994 she spent a year in San Francisco where she worked as a Clinical Research Associate in the Department of Optometry, University of California, Berkeley.
On her return to London in 1995, she opened her own optometry office in Wortley Village. Since that time, Dr. Bauman has built the practice into a multi-doctor, full scope optometry practice serving the Old South Community. Dr. Bauman enjoys providing full scope optometric services, including child and family primary eye care and is fully certified in Ocular Therapeutics for the treatment and co management of eye diseases. Dr. Bauman is an affiliate of TLC Laser Centre and provides co-management services for laser eye surgery patients.
Dr. Bauman loves living and working in the Old South community and founded Old South Optometry in 2008 with Dr. Schropp. Dr. Bauman is passionate about travel and photography, especially when they are combined!

Dr. Christina Schropp
Dr. Christina Schropp, a native of Kitchener-Waterloo, graduated in 1991 from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry.
During her studies, she completed an externship in neuroophthalmology and strabismus at the Karl Ludwigs Universitaet Klinik in Freiburg, Germany.
After practicing on Canada’s East Coast in Dartmouth and Bedford, Nova Scotia, she returned to the Toronto - GTA area in 1992 where she built and managed a large three-doctor family optometric practice in Whitby, Ontario until 2003. As well as working at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry as a Clinical Supervisor and as a National Board Assessor, Dr. Schropp was a Whitby-Sunrise Rotarian for seven years, spoke at numerous community functions on various aspects of vision and the importance of eye care, and has also volunteered in eye care missions to underprivileged areas of the world.
Dr. Schropp has a keen interest in pediatric eye care, complex contact lens care, home or nursing home visits, laser vision co-management and integrated eyecare with wellness. She joined Dr. Bauman permanently in January 2008 and together Dr. Bauman and Dr. Schropp founded Old South Optometry. |
