Just because you can see well doesn’t necessarily mean you have good eye health. Regular eye exams by your optometrist can detect changes to your vision and eye health. For a well adult between 18-65 years of age we recommend a comprehensive eye examination every two years. For individuals over 65 or who have medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes or eye conditions such as glaucoma we recommend a comprehensive eye examination at least once a year. At Old South Optometry, our comprehensive eye examination includes a thorough history taking, a review of eye health, a check of your vision and eye movements and a check of your eyeglass prescription. As part of your comprehensive eye examination, your doctor will discuss any eye health findings with you and provide recommendations to ensure your vision is as good as it can be. Your doctor is also able to discuss eye wear products and vision correction procedures with you so you can decide on the best options for Your Eyes, Your Life.
Special services offered by Old South Optometry include:
non-contact and contact intraocular pressures
automated visual fields
corneal keratometry and pachymetry
retinal photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT) for retinal analysis and advanced glaucoma screening.
